Wondering when to visit The Bahamas? This is a fairly easy choice to make, as there are just two seasons, winter and summer. The islands enjoy a mostly tropical climate with around 340 sunny days a year.
Winter is from November through April. Temperatures are in the 70 to 80 degrees Fahrenheit (21 to 27 degrees Celsius) during the day. Cold fronts from the North sometimes bring strong winds, agitated seas, some rain, and lower temperatures for a few days.
Summer is from May through October when temperatures range from 80 to 90 degrees Fahrenheit (27 to 32 degrees Celsius). The waters are more calm and the sea is often flat like a mirror and crystal clear. There is higher humidity and the occasional showers. However, the rain clouds generally pass over fairly quickly, allowing you to continue working on that perfect tan.
The hurricane season officially starts in June and runs through November. But don't worry, hurricanes are fairly infrequent in The Bahamas and usually only strike the islands during the months of September and October.
Sea temperature rarely dips below 73 degrees Fahrenheit (23 degrees Celsius) in winter and rises to an average of around 84 degrees Fahrenheit (29 degrees Celsius) from July to September.
